What the service is

Membrane Takeoff reads drawing sets, helps you measure them and produces quotes and takeoff reports from the quantities and rates you confirm. It is an estimating tool, not a quantity surveyor, engineer or building consent authority.

Estimates, not certified quantities

Everything the agents read from a drawing is a draft to be verified. Quantities measured from drawings are estimates and are always subject to site measurement.
Rates, margins and totals come from the numbers you enter. Where a rate is not set the tool shows TBC and never invents a figure.
You are responsible for checking every quote before it goes to a client, for compliance with the Building Code, the manufacturer's specification and your contract.

Liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law (including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies to you as a business, which you agree it does not), Membrane Roofing Systems is not liable for any loss arising from quotes, quantities or decisions based on the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Your account

Early access is free with a limited number of projects per person. One free allowance per person — we may refuse or close accounts created to get around that (temporary mailboxes, VPN/proxy sign-ups, repeated accounts).
Keep your sign-in code private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You own your drawing sets, measurements and quotes. You give us the right to store and process them to provide the service.

Acceptable use

Upload only drawings you are entitled to use. No scraping, reverse engineering or reselling of the service. No unlawful content.

Changes and ending

We may change the service and these terms; material changes are announced by email. Either side can end the account at any time — on request we delete your data. Pricing, when introduced, will be announced in advance and never charged without your consent.

Law
