Who we are

Membrane Takeoff is operated by Membrane Roofing Systems (Mussi Jorge Rosa, Licensed Building Practitioner — Roofing), Auckland, New Zealand. We are the agency under the Privacy Act 2020. Privacy officer: info@membraneroofingsystems.co.nz.

What we collect

Your email address — to sign you in (a 6-digit code, no password) and to tell you about the service.
The drawing sets and measurements you upload — PDFs, images, the areas and rates you enter, the quotes you generate.
Technical data — IP address, a first-party device identifier cookie, sign-in times. We use these to keep the free allowance fair and to stop abuse (temporary mailboxes, VPN/proxy sign-ups, repeated accounts).

How we use it

To run the service: store your projects, read your drawing sets, produce quotes and reports.
To read a drawing set, the file is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google does not use API content to train its models. No other third party receives your files.
To email you sign-in codes and service updates. Emails are sent through Brevo (SMTP).
We never sell your data, and we never show one customer's projects, rates or quotes to another.

Where it lives

On our own server in the EU (Netcup, Germany), encrypted in transit. Sign-in cookies are HttpOnly and expire after 90 days.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email us and we act within 20 working days — deletion of an account and all its projects is done on request. If you are not happy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Breaches

If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm we notify the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable.

Cookies

Two first-party cookies only: tk (your session) and dv (device identifier for the free allowance). No advertising or analytics cookies.
